There are two ways to install the FileCap Outlook add-in. This can be done using an .EXE or .MSI file.

If you choose to install the FileCap Outlook add-in using the .EXE file, you will see the following screen.

All fields are required:


Installation directory	Select the installation directory for the plugin here. The default location is recommended
Plugin Language	Select the language in which the plugin should be available.
FileCap server API key	Enter the FileCap server API key here; it can be found in the FileCap Admin portal under “Plugins and apps -> API key”
FileCap external domain	Enter the FileCap domain on which the FileCap server is reachable via the internet. Example: filecap.klant.nl

The MSI installation can be used to install the FileCap Outlook add-in using, for example, a login script or Group Policy.

All registry values described on this page can be placed in HKEY_CURRENT_USER and/or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Settings placed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE will be used for all users logged in on the system.
Settings placed in HKEY_CURRENT_USER only apply to a specific user. These values override the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE values.

The FileCap Outlook add-in has the following requirements:

The FileCap installation will check whether the correct .NET and VSTO are already installed. If not, they will be installed.

You can remove the FileCap Outlook add-in by following these steps:

Open “Settings”: Click the “Start” button (Windows logo) at the bottom left of your screen and then click the gear icon “Settings.”
Go to “Apps”: In the “Settings” window, click the “Apps” category.
Select “Apps & features”: On the left side, select “Apps & features.”
Find FileCap to uninstall: Scroll through the list of installed apps to find the app you want to remove. You can also use the search bar at the top to quickly find the app.
Click “Uninstall”: Click the name of the app and a menu will appear. Click the “Uninstall” button.
Confirm the uninstall: A confirmation window appears asking whether you are sure you want to remove the app. Click “Uninstall” again to confirm.
Follow the instructions: Follow any additional instructions or prompts that appear during the uninstall process. This may include confirming permissions or preferences.
Wait for removal: The app will be removed and you may see a progress bar or status indicator. Wait until the process is complete.
Restart if necessary: Some apps require you to restart your computer to complete the removal. If prompted, restart your computer.
App removed: Once the process is complete, the app is removed from your system.
