When someone sends you a secure message with FileCap, you receive an email notification containing a link.
- Click the link in the notification email. Your browser opens the FileCap portal.
- Verify your identity using the method the sender selected:
- Code by email — the code is sent to your email address; enter it on the portal.
- SMS code — the code is sent to your mobile phone.
- Password — enter the password the sender shared with you.
- Company password — enter your organization’s pre-agreed password.
- After successful verification you can read the message and download the attached files.
Keep in mind that the sender controls how long the transfer remains available and how many times the files may be downloaded. When those limits are reached, the link no longer works.
